ETS Jet Engine Stands Inc. has announced plans to invest $1.3 million to purchase an existing building and develop a facility, creating 30 jobs.
The company, which is headquartered in Louisville, produces steel-frame stands to hold jet engine produced by GE, Pratt Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
“ETS Jet Engine Stands Inc. is excited about the possibility of setting up shop in New Albany,” said owner Todd Berger. “Having owned a similar business in Louisville, I recognize the skill, loyalty and work ethic of the Southern Indiana workforce as I’ve hired many of your residents along the way.
Berger said he will submit a request for tax abatements, saving the company about $80,000 over 10 years.
ETS is getting assistance from One Southern Indiana, the economic development organization for Clark and Floyd counties.
According to 1si, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered ETS up to $250,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans.
Berger said if his company gets backing from the New Albany City Council, he intends to move operations into the space within the next three months.
