Manchester University says it will allow undergraduate students the option of taking a pass/no pass grade in most classes this semester if they get approval from their academic advisor.

The school says students will also have the option to stick with a letter grade because some students need actual grades for professional or graduate school.

Students have until May 28 to convert a course to pass/no pass, which is four business days after grades are available.

The faculty Academic Governance Council voted to approve the new grading policy because of the forced cancellation of in-person classes due to the pandemic.
