Ohio-based Caresource, which has about 200 employees in Indiana, says it will cover childcare costs for employees with school-aged children through April 3.
“There are times in society that define us as people and as a company. This is one of them,” said CareSource President and Chief Executive Officer Erhardt Preitauer. “CareSource has implemented a plan to allow maximum flexibility and support for employees. This includes flexible hours and the unprecedented step of providing reimbursement for short term childcare needs as a result of school closures and, where needed, additional paid time off.”
CareSource is headquartered in Dayton. Ohio’s governor last week ordered the closing of all K-12 schools because of COVID-19. That move left many of its 4,200 employees looking for childcare.
Many Indiana parents who work for CareSource faced the same challenge.
