The craft beer maker says its team helped more than 450 central Indiana nonprofit organizations in 2019.
During its first decade in business, Sun King says its philanthropic efforts have totaled more than an $8 million, helping more than 1,000 groups.
“Working together with our employees, our guests and our community partners, we hope that we will ultimately help brighten the lives of people throughout Indiana and look forward to another decade of giving back to community organizations throughout the state,” said Sun King co-founder and owner Clay Robinson.
Sun King says it donates beer, volunteer time and proceeds from portions of sales to organizations with missions that share common philanthropies, including people in need, arts and culture, nature and conservation as well as youth development.
“Since we tapped our first keg 10 years ago, our team members have demonstrated a passion for giving back to the communities in which we serve,” said Robinson.
The beermaker collaborates with a variety of organizations and create special brews for an occasion. For instance, when partnering with Newfields, Sun King brewed Electric Reindeer for the Winterlights holiday celebration. When working with Conner Prairie, the company created Ichabrewed Crane for the living history museum’s fall festival.
The brewery says it intends to develop a Bicentennial beer for the Indy Turns 200 celebration.
