The company, which is a subsidiary of Michigan-based Spartan Motors Inc. (Nasdaq: SPAR) finishes out “last mile” delivery trucks and vans, such as FedEx delivery trucks.
Spartan says the new 105,000-square-foot facility will support its aftermarket parts, service, and research and development efforts.
“We’re proud to be in a position to invest back into the business to secure our leadership position and help ensure future growth by leading first-to-last-mile delivery and specialty service innovation.” said Chad Heminover, president, Spartan Fleet Vehicles and Services.
Heminover says the company is experiencing increased demand for commercial, fleet delivery, and specialty service vehicles.
The company says while the new facility is being equipped, it will begin running a second shift at existing plants.
