Representatives from Hospital for Behavioral Medicine and Hendricks Regional Health, along with town officials, tossed a ceremonial shovel of dirt Monday to officially launch the project.
Officials say the 77,000-square-foot medical facility will create over 250 jobs.
The new behavioral hospital, operated by Texas-based US Healthvest, will provide a full continuum of specialized inpatient and outpatient behavioral services, including addiction treatment services.
It’s being built on the campus of Hendricks Regional Health in Plainfield.
The hospital is expected to open in early 2021.
