The IU Board of Trustees has voted to increase residence hall rates for the 2020-21 academic year, as well as approved an update to the IUPUI Campus Master Plan.
The rate for standard room and board at IU Bloomington will increase 3.46%, or $375, over the current academic year. The Bloomington campus’s residence hall rates will go up 3.8 percent overall.
Other IU campuses will see a boost in room rates in residence halls.
- IUPUI: 1.7 to 4.5 percent.
- IU South Bend: 0.5 to 1 percent.
- IU Southeast: 1.96 to 2.05 percent
The trustees also approved an update to the IUPUI Campus Master Plan which was first developed in 2012.
The new plan puts a framework in place for future land development, open space and campus modifications, such as additional student housing and an IUPUI Sports District.
IU says the update also incorporates proposed initiatives put forth by IU Health that have emerged since the creation of the 2012 plan.
One such endeavor includes plans for a growing IU Health Academic Medical Center at 16th Street and Senate Avenue.
