Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Lafayette-based Express Air Coach plans to start offering shuttle service Friday from Hammond to O’Hare. But the paper says the service has no plans to make other stops in Porter or LaPorte counties, nor will it drop off passengers at Chicago’s Midway Airport.
Express Air Coach currently runs a shuttle from Purdue University to O’Hare.
According to the publication, the bus line intends to make five pick-up stops and five drop-off stops in Hammond daily, with more service during the peak season.
“In light of the recent changes in bus service to O’Hare, with the withdrawal of Coach USA, we feel that additional stops along our current service to and from O’Hare and Purdue University makes a lot of sense,” said Express Air Coach President Paul Davis.
Coach USA abruptly decided to cancel the Indiana Airport Supersaver shuttles at the end of last year. Since then, Mishawaka-based Royal Excursion announced plans to start offering new airport bus service from northwest Indiana to both airports.
