The economic development organization says Horan will be joining her husband who relocated to Texas last year.
Horan became president in March of 2017. Her last day will be January 31.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank Ellen for her thoughtful and trailblazing leadership at the Growth Alliance and outstanding service to this community,” said Brad Ellsworth chairman of the Growth Alliance board.
Growth Alliance says under Horan’s leadership, greater Evansville has benefited from $200 million in new capital investment and more than 645 new high-wage jobs.
She also oversaw the expansion of Evansville’s first coworking space and the relaunch of a makerspace in downtown Evansville.
“The upward momentum of the region is tangible and energizing,” said Horan. “It has been a great time to be a part of the Evansville community leadership. I see continued success for the Growth Alliance and for the region.”
Growth Alliance says it will immediately begin the search for a new president.
