Following several delays with the Red Line ticketing system, IndyGo says it is ready to start collecting fares. 

The transit system says free fares on the Red Line will come to an end this weekend, and riders will need to start paying on Sunday.

It will cost users $1.75 per ride on the electric buses.

IndyGo says Flow Bird, the fare system vendor hired to install the online pay system, didn’t deliver on time.

The transit system has set up a temporary pay system to start collecting money for rides until the more-permanent MyKey system is ready to be launched.

IndyGo says starting Sunday inspectors will be riding the Red Line buses to verify the validity of tickets.
