Two Hoosier Universities Ranked for Entrepreneur Education

Subscribe NowMUNCIE, Ind. – Students with an entrepreneurial spirit don’t have to leave Indiana to get an education to help them pursue that business drive. The Princeton Review ranks two in-state universities on its list of Top 50 Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies for 2020.
Ball State University ranks No. 25 and Purdue University comes in at No. 50.
The Princeton Review, known for its annual school rankings, and Entrepreneur magazine surveyed administrators at more than 300 undergraduate and graduate schools offering entrepreneurship studies.
“Our program is also well known for engaging directly with the startup community, focusing on real-world business problems, experiential learning, and getting out of the classroom,” said Matt Marvel, director of the Entrepreneurship Center in the Miller College of Business at Ball State.
More than 40 data points were analyzed for the ranking list tallies, including the percentage of faculty, students, and alumni involved in entrepreneurial endeavors; the number and reach of mentorship programs and scholarships, and the level of support for school-sponsored business plan competitions.
“Their courses are rich with in-class and out-of-class experiential components, and the financial and networking support their students receive is extraordinary,” said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review’s editor in chief.
Marvel says one of their signature events, called E-Day, has received national attention. On Evaluation Day, senior entrepreneurship majors present their business plan to a panel of alumni entrepreneurs and business executives.
“Over the years, our graduates have gone on to leadership positions in a variety of industries as well as starting their own businesses,” Marvel said.
