Indy Law Firm Continues Expansion Plan

The law firm says it will combine with Minneapolis-based Briggs and Morgan. Taft has been expanding in recent years. The firm says it increased its number of attorneys by 10 percent in 2018. In 2014, Chicago-based Shefsky & Froelich merged into Taft.
According to a news release, the company uses a decentralized leadership structure without a designated headquarters. Each firm operates under local leadership, supported by the Taft brand and resources.
“We are very excited to welcome Briggs to Taft’s already broad regional platform,” said Brad Schwer, Taft Indianapolis partner-in-charge. “This expansion provides our clients with another full-service office with great depth added to our already existing practices.”
Briggs and Morgan law firm dates back to 1882. Among its list of clients, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, and U.S. Bancorp.
Together, the firms have more than 600 lawyers across 12 U.S. offices. The business move goes into effect on January 1.
