Properties typically chosen for the program are at least 40 acres, served by the utility, or a vacant industrial building with at least 20,000 square feet. Duke will present findings to local economic development agencies later in the year. A location in Westfield and one in North Manchester made the cut.
“The Site Readiness program provides us with expertise and best practices to promote our city and Northpoint as a great place to do business and grow a business. We look forward to the opportunities and feedback the program provides.” said Amanda Rubadue, Westfield’s economic development director.
Site development company, Strategic Development Group Inc. and Banning Engineering of Plainfield will assess the sites and make recommendations.
“Officials in each location are eager to use these recommendations to boost their existing economic development efforts,” said Erin Schneider, Indiana director of economic development for Duke Energy.
The locations include:
- The Northpoint Business Park in Westfield (Hamilton County) which is located at 202nd Street and U.S. Highway 31
- The North Manchester Industrial Complex (Wabash County) at County Road 1100 North and Taynor Drive in North Manchester.
