Bloomington-based Warrant Technologies LLC says it is now certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a qualified HUBZone small business, and with the designation the company hopes to get awarded federal contract dollars.

The HUBZone program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to contracts with the federal government for goods, supplies, and services.

Warrant Technologies designs, builds and tests software solutions for systems engineering and operational support for military customers, such as the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.

In addition to the HUBZone certification, the company says it’s also certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.

 “We are proud to be staffed by more than 50% Veterans and to be recognized for creating opportunities for others,” said Michael Norris, CEO of Warrant Technologies.

The company, founded in 2013, is based in downtown Bloomington which the SBA has declared a HUBZone. To qualify for the certification, some of the company employees must reside in a HUBZone. According to Warrant Technologies, at least 35 percent of the staff of 26 lives within the designated area.
