RecycleForce is set to receive Wednesday a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to help reestablish the Indianapolis Career Pathways Collaborative. The CPC helps men and women, who spent time in jail but have been released, to successfully transition back into the community.

RecycleForce is an electronics recycling organization that provides the work and workforce training for people who are going through the transition following incarceration. The grant will help the enterprise to train 190 people that have a moderate to high risk of re-offending when returning to high crime and high poverty areas of Marion County.

Congressman André Carson and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett will join RecycleForce and other community leaders to celebrate the federal grant award.

The CPC advisory group is made up of senior-level representatives of agencies ranging from workforce development to law enforcement. The goal is to ensure RecycleForce is providing the types of training needed to help their temporary workers find gainful employment in high demand occupations in Indianapolis.
