Study: Indiana Business Climate is ‘Temperate’

Subscribe NowWhen it comes to creating a new business in the U.S., a new study reveals Indiana is in the middle of the pack as it pertains to an attractive business climate. WalletHub, a personal finance and credit card company, just released the results of a study on startup business conditions among the 50 states. The study places Indiana at 24th best state overall to create a business.
“A state that provides the ideal conditions for business creation — access to cash, skilled workers and affordable office space, for instance — can help new ventures not only take off but also thrive,” remarks the company.
WalletHub looked at 26 key indicators supportive of start up success to determine which states offer the most fertile grounds to launch a successful enterprise. Those indicators included such things as most accessible financing, lowest labor costs, cheapest office space and highest education levels.
Breaking it down in categories, Indiana ranked 11th in business costs but 29th in access to resources and 33rd in business environment.
Texas ranks number one overall as best state to start a business, followed by Utah, Georgia, North Dakota and Oklahoma. Rhode Island comes in last.
