The site is a 65-acre area on the southern part of the airport and includes parts of 96th Street, Willow View Road and Masters Road.
The city aims to develop the vacant land into a “user-driven space,” creating jobs and boosting the economy of Fishers.
Indianapolis Airport Authority is the primary owner of the land. In 2015, an MOU was created between the city of Fishers and the Indianapolis Airport Authority to develop 200 acres of land at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport.
“The City of Fishers welcomes the opportunity to partner with the Indianapolis Airport Authority and JLL on this call for proposals,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness in a news release. “We have seen a significant amount of interest in this property since our MOU was established in 2015, but developers and companies have been hesitant due to the preference of land leases. We now have the chance to sell this land and continue to transform development along 96th Street.”
