The company says it will invest more than $11 million to expand its headquarters campus over the next five years.
Decatur Plastics Products is renovating a recently-purchased shell building in the North Vernon Industrial Park for additional warehousing and light assembly. The company is also planning to build an additional 50,000 square-foot facility next to that building by summer 2020. It says the expansion will allow it to meet growing demand for its products.
The company provides injection molding, finishing and other services for its customers in the automotive, electronics, medical and other industries. It currently has about 185 full-time associates in Indiana. It’s currently hiring for positions in engineering, production and management.
"Jennings County is in an advantageous location that allows Decatur Plastics Products to service our current and potential customers," said Decatur Plastics Products President Robert Riley in a release. "Here, we have found hard workers who care about their community and want to see this area excel. As a company, we are proud to be a part of the exciting transformation that is taking place in Jennings County and look forward to working together with the community for years to come."
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Decatur Plastics Products up to $475,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. The city of North Vernon has also approved incentives.
