The floating stairs and railing systems manufacturer says it will invest more than $12 million to double its Indiana footprint. The company has reported 60 percent revenue growth for six straight years and expects to hit $100 million in sales by 2021 with the increased production.
Viewrail currently employs 135 associates in Goshen and is hiring for administration, production and shipping positions. Those jobs are expected to pay salaries above the county and state average. The expansion will add 40,000 square feet to Viewrail’s existing production facility in Goshen. The company says the project will allow it to expand its metal and wood shops and boost production of railing, stairs and stair parts.
"We started this company in my basement in Goshen, and we now have four separate facilities comprising 140,000 square feet, all located within a mile of each other," said Viewrail owner Len Morris in a release. "Our belief is that our products are long lasting, but people are eternal. We’re fortunate to be able to find people of this quality right here in Goshen, Indiana."
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Viewrail up to $2.6 million in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The city of Goshen is also supporting the project.
The announcement comes shortly after Indiana released its hardwood strategy, focusing on business development, education and marketing involving the $10 billion industry in the state. Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler talked about the strategy on a recent edition of Inside INdiana Business With Gerry Dick.
