The Housing to Recovery Fund would direct funding to support institutions to help cover outreach, assistance obtaining benefits, landlord negotiation and daily living skills.
“In 2017, I challenged our City to locate 400 additional units to house those experiencing homelessness. As always, our city rose to the challenge,” said Mayor Hogsett. “And so today we outline the Housing to Recovery Fund to bolster supportive services for these units. With this permanent supportive housing model, when our neighbors are housed, they will be more likely to stay housed, stay out of emergency care, and regain their self-sufficiency.”
The Housing to Recovery Fund will use a pay-for-success model and will bring together government, philanthropic organizations, and service providers to invest in solutions. The funds will be directed to supportive services and will use three metrics to ensure funding:
- Increase housing stability
- Drive down involvement with the criminal justice system
- Provide better access to healthcare
CICF and the City will will establish grantmaking criteria, guidelines, and will administer the application, review and awarding processes. CICF will manage the funds. Click here for more information.
