The academy says the facility will allow its two campuses to be combined into one while also meeting the need for additional space to accommodate future growth.
The building is slated to be complete next fall. The academy says it will have classroom space for kindergarten, lower and upper elementary, middle, and special education students. Plans include a gymnasium, an art and science room, as well as dedicated space for music instruction.
Geist Montessori Academy is a public charter school authorized by Ball State University. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday.
