Subscribe NowenFocus, a northern Indiana-based nonprofit, has received $400,000 in grants to expand in Elkhart over the next two years. Indiana Economic Development Corp. funds and a Career Pathways IDEA grant from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County will be used to grow the group’s civic innovation program that pairs recent graduates with organizations in the region in need of innovation.
The grants will specifically be utilized to hire enFocus Fellows, who work full-time in a one-year fellowship program, along with interns who work part-time. Chief Strategy Officer and Program Lead for Elkhart County, Lex Dennis said, “The goal of the combined grant program is to increase the supply of talent for Elkhart County businesses and to create meaningful work experiences for recent graduates through novel community projects.”
The grant allows for up to 10 fellowships and up to 50 internships per year. Fellows and interns will work with regional sponsors to help create new products and services for regional businesses. Click here for more information.
