Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report The Farm at Crossroad Commons will be located where the old Star Plaza Theatre and Radisson Hotel once stood off of I-65 and U.S. 30. Plans call for the development to replace the Twin Towers office complex currently located on the high-visibility property.
The proposed Farm at Crossroads Commons, the publication reports, would include hotels, an events center, as well as office, residential and restaurant space. The project, the company tells The Times, will be mostly paid for by the developer, which is asking for one-third of the costs to be covered by local, county and state funding.
The Radisson and Star Plaza were torn down two years ago and plans were announced last year to demolish the gold-colored Twin Towers buildings. The proposed project would include some 80,000 square-feet of event space, four hotels with a combined 520 guest rooms and more than 100,000 square-feet of office space. The Times reports other proposed features include 18 units of townhouses, 32 condominiums, a visitors center and greenhouse, art gallery, restaurants and a horse-riding arena.
