St. Vincent Announces Indy Land Purchase

Regional President Joel Feldman says, while the provider has made no decisions about what to do with the site near US-31 and I-465, the purchase is part of an ongoing strategy to "make care more accessible."
Feldman says, if St. Vincent does decide to develop the site, it will engage with local, state and business leaders as well as area homeowners during the process. He released the following statement:
“St. Vincent has been improving the health of Hoosiers for nearly 140 years, and a key part of our mission is ensuring easy access to our care. By acquiring land adjacent to one of our state’s most accessible interchanges, we enable the exciting possibility of a future site that could allow us to bring high-quality, compassionate and personalized care to even more patients and families.
As we continue our strategic visioning process to best guide the future delivery of care, we emphasize that no decisions have been made regarding what might be done with this land. If St. Vincent makes a mission-driven decision to pursue development, we will bring plans forward and engage local and state officials, local businesses, area homeowners and other stakeholders in the process.
In the meantime, we remain committed to continually improving our existing facilities across the state, including our St. Vincent Indianapolis 86th Street Campus.
Recent efforts to make care more accessible include the introduction of neighborhood hospitals and provision of more virtual care options, both of which bring care closer to patients. St. Vincent also continues to serve our most vulnerable populations with $323 million in statewide community benefit in our most recent fiscal year.”
