The plant in Bluffton will extract microbes from chicken manure to cultivate biofertilizers and biostimulants. The company says it will begin hiring on-site management in the early summer, followed by manufacturing positions in the fall of next year.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered EnviroKure up to $165,000 in conditional incentives based on the job creation plans. The city of Bluffton has offered additional incentives.
The announcement comes as the two-day Forbes AgTech Summit begins in Indianapolis. Organizers expect up to 500 agriculture leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world to attend. Speakers include Forbes Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Steve Forbes, Purdue University President Mitch Daniels, Governor Eric Holcomb and executives from companies including Trace Genomics, Corteva Agriscience and Elanco Animal Health.
