Marina Waters says the company partners with other businesses as the need increases for workplaces to adapt to more multicultural environments. LUNA, she says, wants to show "how building a culturally-rich company can help make a case for business growth." Waters believes LUNA could serve as a model for businesses in Indiana and beyond.
During an interview on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Waters said her company "walks its talk." She says the company hires from the immigrant and refugee populations and could provide lessons to employers on "how to do that right" by making a business case for planning ahead for changing demographics and shifts in the workforce.
"Our available workforce, if you look at those (employment) stats going forward," Waters said, "it is the foreign-born immigrants coming in that are going to be the most available workforce for our businesses, so we need to help them be ready for that."
The company provides services for more than 200 languages. Its clients have included Indiana University, Purdue University, Black and Decker and PepsiCo.
