Goshen Schools Names Architect For $65M Project

Goshen Community Schools is moving forward with a major building project. The Elkhart Truth reports the district has hired Fort Wayne-based architecture firm Barton Coe Vilamaa for the $65 million effort, which includes the construction of a new building.

The project was approved by voters through a referendum. It will feature a new intermediate school for grades 5 and 6, as well as renovations and expansions to Goshen High School and Goshen Middle School, according to the publication. 

Barton Coe Vilamaa will work on the design of the new building and additions, as well as assist with the bidding process for construction of the project.

The $38 million intermediate school building will cover about 190,000 square feet. The GHS portion of the project will include 30,000 square feet of new space, as well as renovations to 20,000 square feet of existing space, along with other infrastructure improvements throughout the school. The GMS portion will include renovations to 20,000 square feet of existing space as well.
