The Fort Wayne-based Foellinger Foundation has announced nearly $1 million in grants in Allen County. The youth development grants focus on children and their families, especially those with the greatest need. 

Foellinger President Cheryl Taylor says the foundation’s strategy is to support effective nonprofits  “The grantees on the list reflect the Foundation’s emphasis on funding nonprofits led by adaptive board and staff leaders whose organizations make Allen County a better place.” 

The list of grants include:

•  Anthony Wayne Area Council, BSA One-year program support. $25,000
• Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne One-year operating support. $125,000
• Crossroad Child & Family Services One-year operating support. $28,000
• Drive Alive Three-year operating support. $22,500
• Erin’s House for Grieving Children Two-year operating support. $40,000
• Gateway Woods Family Services One-year program support. $20,000
• Martin Luther King School Three-year operating support. $345,000
• Junior Achievement Three-year operating support. $315,000
• Power House Youth Center One-year operating support. $10,000
• Project READS One-year program support. $15,000
• Salvation Army One-year program support. $50,000
