One Southern Indiana says the 200,000-square-foot facility will allow the third party logistics provider to retain 14 employees and add 70 by the end of 2020.
The facility, to be constructed in the Bridgeport Business Center, will include warehouse and office space the company says will serve clients in the areas of value-added warehousing, sequencing, kitting, and transportation management.
Bluegrass Supply Chain Services expects the facility to be complete in February 2019 and could begin hiring in early January.
"This expansion will help ensure Bluegrass Supply Chain Services continues to grow in Southern Indiana," John Higgins, president of Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, said in a news release. "Our company has received great support from the residents and City of Jeffersonville, One Southern Indiana, the IEDC and Koetter Construction, who is handling our project, and we appreciate their confidence in our success."
The company is also seeking a tax abatement for the project, which the Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission has recommended to the Jeffersonville City Council for approval. 1si says the council will make its final decision Monday.
