Assisted Living Community Opens in Muncie

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowOlder adults in need of an assisted living facility have a new option in Muncie. Gardant Management Solutions says the multi-million-dollar Silver Birch of Muncie facility opened earlier this month.
The development combines apartment-home living with personal assistance, help with medications, along with a variety of convenience and support services. Certified nursing assistants are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are supervised by a licensed nurse. Silver Birch Administrator Melissa Carpenter says “We will be providing older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home.” "Residents also will benefit from all of the opportunities that will be available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs."
The community is expected to offer dozens of full, and part-time jobs, once fully occupied. Annual payroll with benefits is expected to be over $1 million. Two other Silver Birch communities are expected to open later this year in Kokomo and Michigan City
