Matt Hunckler says information compiled from 138 central Indiana companies shows marketing tech companies have big plans, with 38 percent of respondents expecting exits in excess of $50 million. "Which means we’re not looking for base hits here," said Hunckler. "We’re looking for the bigger plays, let’s go for the IPO, let’s really build something big right here in Indiana."
In an interview on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Hunckler also said tech companies weighed in on social issues.
Additional findings of the tech census include:
- Thirty-four percent of company respondents grew revenue by more than 100 percent last year
- Approximately half (49 percent) of participating companies made over $1,000,000 in recurring revenue in 2017
- Sixty-three percent of workforce respondents reported annual salaries in excess of $75,000
Hunckler says the complete census report will be released February 22.
Powderkeg, which provides a subscription-based networking and growth-focused platform for technology entrepreneurs, is also extending its footprint. The organization has announced plans to add 35 employees and says it wants to be in 50 total markets by 2020.
