Subscribe NowA spokesman with Walmart (NYSE: WMT) tells Inside INdiana Business all 511 employees slated to be laid off at a DHL Supply Chain-operated logistics facility in Greenfield will "have an opportunity to transition to Walmart." The retailer is taking over operations at the facility and says a hiring and selection process is already underway for the DHL employees.
Ryan Currell, who works in corporate communications with Walmart, adds "we hope they want to join us, because we’ll need them at this facility." DHL Supply Chain bills itself as the world’s leading contract logistics provider. It has a presence in more than 55 countries and employs over 146,000 globally. It noted in a filing with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that the positions will be terminated May 4.
