LLC has promoted: Michelle Trowell (pictured) and Shawn Williams (pictured) to directors. The firm now has 48 directors. Trowell joined the team in August 2009. She is responsible for assisting healthcare clients with various aspects of Medicare reimbursement challenges. Trowell received her Bachelor of Science degree from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. She previously served as a senior consultant with Ernst & Young specializing in Medicare Bad Debts and Wage Index related opportunities. Beginning her career with AdminaStar Federal, Trowell has more than 15 years of experience in Medicare reimbursement. She currently serves on the Executive Committee, as treasurer, for the Indiana chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Williams started with the firm in September 2002. He is primarily responsible for financial statement audits, reviews and compilations. Williams also provides assistance with benchmarking analysis and many other projects in connection with the healthcare industry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ball State University. Williams is also a Fellow within the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He also volunteers within the community and currently serves on the board of Choices Coordinated Care Solutions.
Also, Sara Jacobi has been appointed as the newest member of the executive committee. She will serve a three-year term, and has replaced Kam McQuay, whose term expired at the end of 2017. Jacobi began her career with Blue & Co. as an intern in the firm’s Seymour office in January 1995. She spent seven years of her career in the audit practice, serving clients primarily in the manufacturing, professional service, retail and nonprofit industries. In July 2002, Jacobi transferred to the firm’s Columbus, Indiana office to manage the tax and business services practice. In her current role, she provides tax planning and compliance services, accounting assistance and financial statement compilations for clients. Jacobi specializes in accounting and tax preparation and planning for individuals, closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. She was instrumental in developing Aliign LLC, an affiliated firm providing outsourced payroll, accounts payable and accounting solutions in the Southern Indiana offices as well as across the firm. In June 2010, Jacobi was presented the Ron Blue award, which is presented to personnel in the firm who excel at business development efforts.
