The restaurant says it will this summer open a location on the south side of Indianapolis. The announcement comes just months after Portillo’s opened its Fishers location.
The chain says the 9,000 square-foot restaurant on US-31 in Indianapolis will have a Prohibition-style theme. It will feature drive-through lanes, seasonal outdoor seating and will sell beer.
In a release, Portillo’s Chief Executive Officer Keith Kinsey says the city’s "vibrant retail area" is an ideal fit for its next location. The restaurant also has a location in Mishawaka planned for this year. In all, it has more than 50 locations in several states.
