In a Studio(i) interview with Gerry Dick, Brinegar discussed bills concerning workforce, township consolidation and smoking that have all advanced this week. Brinegar believes House Bill 1002 and Senate Bill 50, which call for reorganization of state workforce programs and funding and amendments to career technical education efforts, are more responsive to the business community but are "hamstrung" by the non-budget session.
Two other bills, he says — House Bill 1005, which would cut the number of township governments by one-third and House Bill 1380, which would raise the legal smoking age to 21 — fall short of the chamber’s recommendations.
