Allen County has received 14 grants for early childhood and family development. The Foellinger Foundation, Inc., a private charitable foundation, approved grants totaling $810,000 to support nonprofit organizations that provide services throughout Allen County.

“These organizations reflect the Foundation’s focus on supporting children and families in Allen County,” said Cheryl Taylor, Foundation President. “The Foundation’s strategy is to support effective nonprofits emphasizing clients with the most economic need with the least opportunity.”

Below are a list of the nonprofit organizations that will receive funding:

• Caring About People – $10,000 (One-year program support)
• Center for Nonviolence – $255,000 (Three-year operating support)
• Educational Opportunity Center – $15,000 (One-year operating support)
• Fort Wayne Urban League – $10,000 (One-year program support)
• Habitat for Humanity – $105,000 (Three-year operating support)
• Homebound Meals – $30,000 (Three-year operating support)
• Interfaith Hospitality Network – $70,000 (Two-year operating support)
• The Learning Community – $25,000 (One-year operating support)
• Long Term Care Ombudsman – $15,000 (Two-year operating support)
• Mental Health America – $15,000 (One-year program support)
• Mustard Seed Furniture Bank – $30,000 (Three-year operating support)
• SCAN – $80,000 (Two-year program support)
• Super Shot – $15,000 (One-year program support)
• Vincent Village – $135,000 (Three-year operating support)
