The 3,500-seat sports arena is home to the school’s basketball, esports and bowling teams. It also includes a clubhouse, banquet facilities and pro shop for the Zollner Golf Course.
President Earl Brooks II says "it’s a fabulous facility. I can’t wait for everyone to have an opportunity to get in to see it and participate in it in the many ways possible."
The project was first made public in early 2016 and also includes a 1,000 square-foot fitness center with treadmills, elliptical machines and additional cardio equipment. The Thunder women’s basketball team held the first public sporting event at the venue Wednesday. The MTI Center received financial support from sources including the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative, the City of Angola, Drs. Rick L. and Vicki L. James, Keith M. and Cindy L. Turner, Larry and Judy Reiners, Parkview Sports Medicine, Cliff and Sig Ryan, the Dekko Foundation and others.
