Lilly Endowment Details $20M For Religious Grants

The 24 Thriving in Ministry Initiative recipients include seminaries, universities, denominational judicatories and a retreat center. Two institutions in Indiana landed grants: Sisters of St. Benedict of Beech Grove and the University of Notre Dame.
Programs being developed with help from the initiative include connecting ordained ministry candidates with mentor-pastors to help with their full-time transition, create mission immersion experiences for mid-career pastors, establish peer groups for pastors serving congregations in rural and urban areas, bring together Latino/Latina clergy in the early stages of careers for mentoring and gather clergywomen for retreats.
