Pacers Set For ‘Major’ Esports Announcement

Pacers Sports & Entertainment will Tuesday make what it calls a major announcement regarding the NBA 2K League. The organization is one of 17 NBA teams taking part in the inaugural season of the esports league, which is set to tip off in 2018.

The announcement is scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers did not provide any additional information.

The NBA announced plans for the 2K League in May. Four months later, Pacers Sports & Entertainment named Cody Parrent director of esports operations reporting to Senior Vice President Kelly Krauskopf.

The organization announced last month that Krauskopf, who also served as president and general manager of the Indiana Fever, would step down as GM to broaden her focus on the esports operation.
