In a filing with the city’s Metropolitan Development Commission, the bakery says it will add 120,000 square feet of space to its existing facility and create nearly 120 jobs by the end of 2020.
The project comes just months after CraftMark completed a $16.5 million investment in a new production line at the facility. The goal of the proposed expansion, as noted in the filing with the city, is to "increase the facility’s capacity to produce its frozen cookie dough, bread dough and ready-to-eat flatbread products."
The bakery says the new investment will also retain 278 current positions. CraftMark says the new jobs will pay an average wage of $18.58 per hour, while the retained jobs will pay an average wage of $24.90 per hour.
CraftMark is requesting tax abatements it says would save the company $3.7 million over 10 years. The MDC will consider the tax abatement proposals at its next meeting Wednesday.
