‘Best of Indiana’ Fall Awards Unveiled
The Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial was voted Best Historic Destination.

Subscribe NowMore than 24,000 Hoosiers have voted to determine the winners of Visit Indiana’s "Best of Indiana" Fall awards. The honorees were chosen in three categories: Best Fall Festival, Best Historic Destination and Best Tenderloin.
The Indiana Office of Tourism Development says nominees in each category were recommended by members of the state’s travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Voters could select up to five nominees to win in each category.
"Hoosiers really let their voices be heard in these categories. I’m energized to see that people are passionate about their festivals, food, and historic destinations," said Mark Newman, executive director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. "All of our nominations were terrific and I encourage everyone to visit one of these fantastic places."
The winner of the Best Fall Festival award is the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival in Evansville. The event runs for one week in October and features more than 130 food booths, drawing more than 200,000 people to southern Indiana. The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival came in at number two and Harvest Homecoming in New Albany is third.
The Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial was named Indiana’s Best Historic Destination. The Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand is second, followed by the George Rogers Clark National Memorial in Vincennes.
Indiana’s Best Tenderloin, according to voters, is located at Nick’s Kitchen in Huntington, which has been around for nearly 110 years. The second place tenderloin can be found at Dooley O’Toole’s in Carmel while third place went to The Willard in Franklin.
