Indy to Serve as Grow With Google Launch Site

Subscribe NowIndianapolis will be the kickoff city for a national skills training tour from a prominent name in tech. Grow With Google, coming to the Indiana State Museum November 10th and 11th, will include more than 20 workshops, over 100 one-on-one coaching sessions and interactive demonstrations. The focus will be on topics like job search strategies, presentation skills, search engine optimization and the basics of coding. The city is considered an emerging technology hub and Google says it will provide resources to partners in the city after the event as a demonstration of its training and digital skills commitment.
The effort involves collaboration among several organizations including EmployIndy, the Indianapolis Public Library, TechPoint, Ivy Tech Community College, Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana, Indy Chamber and Student Veterans of America. The head of community impact for Grow With Google, Erica Swanson, says "by working with our amazing community partners and getting these trainings and resources directly in the hands of job seekers, teachers, entrepreneurs and small business owners, we’re hoping to make a real impact and hear firsthand how Google can better support these communities as they look to enhance their digital skills and find success."
The purpose, organizers say, is provide participants and local partners with tools to help supply the growing, tech-enabled work force needs in the state.
