The school says the project is necessary to meet increasing housing demand brought on by significant growth.
The more than 170-bed addition is expected to open in August 2018. Trine says demand for housing is growing, as the school has reported four straight years of record enrollment. The school cites new athletic and academic programs as reasons for enrollment growth.
Reiners Residence Hall opened in 2015 at a cost of $7 million. In addition to the new rooms, the project will include an expanded food service kitchen area and a new bookstore.
