The $10 million River Gate South apartment complex is designed to help attract young professionals and provide a boost to downtown Plymouth.
The project will receive around $1.5 million through the state-supported, quality-of-life-focused program. The North Central Regional was one on three winning proposals to receive up to $42 million in matching support from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. during the initial run of the Regional Cities Initiative. Mayor Mark Senter says "Plymouth is invested in improving our downtown as evidenced by our recent Main Street certification and work on beautifying and restoring buildings like the historic Rees Theater. This development will kick off our downtown renaissance and increase residential and commercial activity in the South Gateway."
Plans call for three buildings along the Yellow River call for 30 apartments and nine condominiums. The city of Plymouth is also supporting the project, which is expected to be complete in October of 2018.
