Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report the Anderson Board of Zoning Appeals granted the company a special exception for the construction of two office additions.
The publication says the expansion includes a nearly 6,200 square-foot addition, which will house offices, three conference rooms, and an expanded cafeteria. It will also include relocating a 1,800 square-foot patio. The second addition will cover nearly 3,000 square feet and will also house three conference rooms.
The project will also allow for additional parking spaces and landscaping around the patio area. GTI Senior Project Manager Ken Van Buren tells The Herald Bulletin the expansion will cost about $1 million and is expected to be complete this year.
GTI announced in February 2016 plans a $24 million expansion that would create 110 jobs by the end of 2018. Six months later, the company detailed plans for a more than 3,700 square-foot addition, which would be used for water treatment and storage.
