The designation is given to "recognize the very best schools in Indiana." The list adds 207 schools to the 41 named in the first round earlier this month.
The IDOE says, in order to be eligible to receive the honor, schools must receive an "A" on the state’s A-F accountability system, have excellent ISTEP pass rates, have an overall high graduation rate (if applicable), and show success in closing achievement gaps.
"Indiana is full of great schools providing exceptional education throughout all four corners of our state," said Adam Baker, press secretary for the Indiana Department of Education. "After receiving feedback from the field, we reevaluated our criteria in an effort to ensure we captured all schools deserving of Four Star recognition."
