Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) is partnering with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for the Kroger Symphony on the Prairie. The announcement follows Marsh Supermarkets dropping out as the title sponsor after filing for bankruptcy.
The Symphony on the Prairie is entering its 36th year. ISO Chief Executive Officer Gary Ginstling says he is grateful to Kroger "stepping forward on short notice to partner with the ISO."
"What I love about the announcement today is you have Conner Prairie, which is just such a tremendous asset to central Indiana. You have Kroger, being such a tremendously civic-minded business. And then all of that relationship and partnership happening in our city is truly a wonderful opportunity," Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness said.
Tickets for Kroger Symphony on the Prairie will be available at 21 Kroger locations throughout central Indiana, beginning Thursday.
"For so many Indianapolis residents, when they think of summer they think of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Symphony on the Prairie," said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. "Today’s announcement is yet another example of Kroger’s commitment to our community and I applaud their decades-long support of some of Central Indiana’s greatest traditions."
