Marsh Supermarkets will this week close the pharmacies at 37 locations throughout Indiana next week. The grocery chain, which announced the closure of seven stores last week, says the prescription records for patients will be transferred to nearby CVS Pharmacy locations.

The transfer of the prescription files will take place from May 3 to May 5. In a statement to Inside INdiana Business, Marsh says CVS will also acquire the pharmacy inventory from the stores.

"CVS and Marsh will work together to ensure that pharmacy patients experience a seamless transition with no interruption of service. Each Marsh location will have signage with the location of the nearest CVS Pharmacy. However, any CVS Pharmacy location will be able to fill prescriptions for Marsh’s pharmacy patients."

Our partners at WTHR-TV report customers who do not wish to use CVS can have their pharmacy of choice contact the Marsh pharmacy to arrange a transfer. The station says employees of the Marsh pharmacies will have the option to interview for jobs with CVS locations.
