Hall and VW Sports, a subsidiary of Iowa-based VenuWorks Inc., partnered early last year to acquire the affiliation with the Southern Professional Hockey League. VenuWorks manages operations of the Ford Center, where the Thunderbolts play.
"Mike was integral in the leadership of the Thunderbolts through our first season in Evansville," said Steve Peters, president of VenuWorks. "We are very appreciative of his hard work and dedication. The foundation he developed will allow us to take this organization to the next level.”
In a news release, VW Sports says it does not anticipate any changes to the team’s front office and coaching staff. The Thunderbolts debuted in Evansville last year after the city’s previous team, the IceMen, decided to leave after nine years.
