The location, which will serve as the company’s Indiana regional billing office, is expected to open in early 2017 and employ more than 100.
The nearly 14,000 square-foot office is part of an expansion of McKesson’s revenue cycle services operations. The company says it will serve practices affiliated with the US Oncology Network and Vantage Oncology, which has two offices in Evansville.
"McKesson is committed to helping our customers improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of their reimbursement and revenue-cycle management functions, leaving more time to care for patients," said Greg Tenbarge, vice president of Revenue Cycle Services at McKesson Specialty Health. "We have worked closely with (Evansville) Mayor (Lloyd) Winnecke and the Southwestern Indiana Chamber of Commerce on this expansion, and we are very excited to tap into the highly-qualified local workforce and look forward to being an active part of the Evansville community."
McKesson says it will be hiring billing and collecting staff, coders and administrative staff with plans to continue to grow. The company purchased Vantage Oncology this past spring and has more than doubled its staff since that time.
Financial details of the investment were not released. Winnecke says the announcement reinforces the city’s "focus and efforts of fostering job creation and business growth."
